FoSLAGN is pleased to partner with Purposeful in supporting the Survivors Solidarity Fund. This grassroots-led fund is a mobilization platform by and for Sierra Leoneans committed to tackling rape culture at its root. In deep partnership with the Black Tuesday movement and allies in Sierra Leone and around the world, we are scaling up our collective efforts to end rape and all forms of sexual violence in our life-time, by mobilizing funds for groups and individuals living and fighting on the frontlines of the crisis and responding directly to the immediate needs of survivors.
The fund is seeking tax-deductible donations from individuals, businesses and institutions. The Fund is housed at and facilitated by Purposeful, a Sierra Leonean founded international organisation with a track-record of multi-million dollar fundraising and grant-making across the world. Purposeful is covering the administrative costs of running the fund as an institutional act of solidarity. This means that every single Leone raised will go directly to groups living and fighting on the frontlines of the crisis and responding directly to the immediate needs of survivors.
The Fund will be supported by a group of Solidarity Fund Champions made up of survivors, movement leaders and allies who will mobilize resources and promote the goals of the movement across spaces in Sierra Leone and internationally.
